Trinity Reclamation Series paintings
Trinity Reclamation is a series of oil paintings on Masonite panels. As a student at the New York Studio School, in New York City, I did a series of paintings on gesso-ed paper. Years later, this series of paintings which were stored in a basement that flooded by rank sewer water. This caused the paper backing to mold and deteriorate. To salvage those that could not be saved whole, I cut out pieces that were useable and glued them onto Masonite panels. These panels became a part of my continued study of landscape and at the time the landscape of surrounding areas of the Trinity River. This led to what became the Trinity Reclamation Series.
